The National Stud at Villeneuve-sur-Lot held its annual Stallion Parade on Saturday 28th January. Villeneuve is the Stud selected to "manage" the breed in France, following the breed recognition last year.
For the first time, Akhal-teke owners were invited to show their stallions and we decided to take Murad Shael.
There were 44 stallions on parade, most of them belonging to the National stud, with a few privately owned stallions.
Murad was the only AT there and was shown (by Glyn) wearing two traditional silver aladjas and was very well received, creating a lot of interest in the breed and in use of his services.
Although the parade was a success, it was marred by the awful weather conditions (snow and ice) with treacherous road conditions, nevertheless it was a good day for the breed.
